I apparently never actually posted this here; this is some fan art I made for Kate Ashwin during a vacation she took; I was quite pleased with how it turned out (even if my Google Search history now includes Victorian underwear…). If you aren’t reading Widdershins yet, you should be. Here’s the link, so you have no excuses.
So some of you may recall that I wanted to get a Kickstarter going around Thanksgiving to publish Spoofy Randomness in paper form. I have not given up on that dream, but an unexpected move plus a new lab at work, amongst other things, have slowed things down somewhat. My current goal is to put out a Kickstarter around Christmas, assemble books over the summer, and have them shipped before Christmas 2015.
Those of you who have Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, here’s a little bonus for you. In playing Omega Ruby, I played as Chris, with a Castform for storm spotting and a Meganium because Louis made that canon. Feel free to scan this in and add Chris Rusae to your Secret Base team!
It’s been a little over a month since I ended Spoofy Randomness, so I just wanted to pop in and give a little update on things. I plan on restructuring the website to make it more archive-friendly for new readers; the front page will have the first comic instead of the most recent posted. I also plan on getting a Kickstarter going mid-November for a Spoofy Randomness book, which will involve improving the look of several past comics, especially the ones that *shudder* I was using MS Paint to make.
My goal was to have some sketchbook material to post throughout October, but I’m not sure if that will happen. I wound up in the process of buying a house, which happened a LOT faster than I expected (from when we first looked at it to our projected closing date is less than a month!) and as a result I’ve been busy scrambling to get our current house ready to sell. I’m also getting ready to move labs at work right around the same time. Whee!
Also, if you missed it, I drew some fan art for one of my favorite comics, Widdershins. Check it out here, and read Kate’s wonderful comic!
Okay, everyone probably saw this coming. I tried to get a buffer going before I left for Japan, I really did! There just aren’t enough hours in the day, and this comic has been taking about four per day MINIMUM, and with all the prep for trips, work for Scouts, and other real-life things, I don’t have that kind of time…
Still aiming for that Aug. 31st finale, though. I’ll find a way to make it work. I think I’m going to go back to hand-drawing and scanning in, so I think that will speed things up a bit. Regardless, the comic should be back around July 3rd.
